International financial group Eurobank decided to terminate the contract with Delta Bank for the sale of Universal Bank. It was reported on the Eurobank website. The reason for this decision is the impossibility to obtain the appropriate approval documents, in connection with which the deal cannot be completed.

At the same time, according to one of the information sources of the newspaper "Capital", permission for a deal was not provided by the National Bank of Ukraine, as reported by another source - Delta Bank was not able to accumulate the funds, required for this deal.

Universal Bank was founded in 1994 and is a part of the large European banking group. In 2013, the bank gained a profit in the amount of UAH 4,395 million, and in 2012 - UAH 272,600 million of loss. Delta Bank was established in 2006 and is included in a group of large Ukrainian banks. The main shareholders are businessman Nikolai Lagun - 70.61% and the company “Cargill Financial Services International Inc.” (USA) - 29.39%.
