Аgricultural holding Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP) announced plans to invest EUR 200 mln in the next 4-5 years into the production base of the Balkan company Perutnina Ptuj. On November 20, 2018, MHP announced the purchase of a 90.68% stake in Perutnina on the website of the London Stock Exchange. The deal is scheduled to close by the end of this year.
The agricultural holding intends to increase sales in Slovenia and other countries of the Balkans, where Perutnina Ptuj has created a vertically organized production. MHP is going to develop the processes of growing and producing birds. Also, the Yuriy Kosiuk’s company plans to look for new opportunities in the market of Western Europe. MHP has already received permission from the antimonopoly commissions of Macedonia, Serbia, Austria and Romania, it remains only to wait for confirmation of the Slovenian Competition Protection Agency.
Myronivsky Hliboprodukt is a holding founded in 1998 by Yuriy Kosiuk. Today, the largest producer of chicken in Ukraine (55% of the total Ukrainian market). He owns Nasha Ryaba, Baschinsky, Lehko and others. Also produces cereal and sunflower oil. Chilled half carcasses of chickens that are processed in the Netherlands and Slovakia are supplied to Europe.
Perutnina Ptuj is a Slovenian vertically integrated company founded in 1905. It conducts business in 22 countries and employs 3.5 thousand employees in 8 countries. Grows broilers in 4 countries – Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The company owns 4 thousand agricultural land in Slovenia.
